At Witness FC, we believe that everything we do should bring Glory to God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) This includes how we conduct ourselves on and around the soccer field whether as a player, coach, or parent. We also believe that as Christians we have a Biblical mandate to share the Gospel and make disciples. We believe one of the best ways to do this is by our Witness. (Acts 1:8) We believe that soccer, like all sports, should be fun. To that end, we ask that all Witness FC participants – players, coaches, and parents – remember that our conduct and attitudes are more important than the outcome of the games. While winning games is fun, it is not the end goal especially if we lose our Witness in the process. We believe that players and coaches should give their best effort at every practice and every game. (Colossians 3:23) We believe that practice is the time for coaches to instruct and games are the time for players to play and solve problems on their own. We believe that every level of player deserves quality instruction and encouragement.

History of Witness FC
Robert first had the idea of starting a Christian soccer club when he was refereeing a private school soccer match in Lynchburg around 2013. One of the other referees he was working with told them about a time when he was in High School playing against a local Christian school. He remembered that one of the players was a particularly dirty player and repeatedly fouled him during the game. That player tried to witness to him after the game and over thirty years later was still an obstacle to this man coming to faith in Jesus. That’s when Robert first had the idea that Christians who play soccer should be better examples (witnesses) to those around them. God reignited his passion for this idea during the Motion Conference when he met Chris Stokesbary. During 21 days of prayer in January 2023, he felt God telling him it was time to get started! He and Miranda began researching other Christian clubs and figuring out how to start a nonprofit. In June of 2023, Witness FC was born. Miranda and Robert spent the next year leading a small group at Chapel RVA called Kicks For Christ and preparing for our first camp in the summer of 2024. The first camp was a success! We had forty-eight campers, seven adult volunteers, and nine teenage volunteers. The children learned soccer skills, learned about the Bible, and were given the opportunity to ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior! Our first fall season began in August 2024 with a U10 team, a U12 team, and a U6/8 program. We look forward to the upcoming Spring Season and would love your family to join the Witness FC family.
Who Can Play For Witness FC?
Anyone who is born in 2021 to 2009 can play! Our club is open to all players no matter what they believe! However, all of the adults involved in the Board, Staff, and volunteer positions are Christian and asked to pledge that they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior! All adults are background checked and approved by Chesterfield County.
